Martin Attends ICTP Summer School

Nov 21 2019

Zane Martin, a Ph.D. candidate in Atmospheric Science in Adam Sobel's group, attended the 2nd ICTP Summer School on Theory, Mechanisms and Hierarchical Modelling of Climate Dynamics: Convective Organization and Climate Sensitivity.

Zane writes, "I just returned from a two-week summer school in Trieste, Italy, where I attended lectures, labs, and worked in groups mentored by world-class faculty from around the globe. The school was focused on convective organization and aggregation in radiative-convective equilibrium models and observations: a fast-evolving research area in atmospheric science with a myriad of possible applications for improving our understanding of the atmosphere and perhaps even how the climate will change as the world warms.

The school, at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, was a great chance to learn, network, and also enjoy a gorgeous location on the Adriatic Sea; it’s held annually and I’d encourage any atmospheric science students to consider applying to future schools."
