Have a Question? Contact our Student Services Coordinator or reach out to an academic advisor
Departmental advisors are assigned to each of our majors: Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, and Materials Science. The same advisors track students from their sophomore to junior to senior years; generally, students have the same advisor for three years. General Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, and Materials Science advisors can be contacted when the assigned advisor is not available.
These advisors can give you advice about your major requirements and help you keep on track toward graduation. They can also offer advice about graduate school options and career directions; they are prepared to discuss other academic and career matters, as well. Academic questions outside your major should be addressed to academic advisor in the Center for Student Advising (CSA) in Lerner Hall. Answers to questions concerning career direction (involving nearer-term employment, professional schools, ...) can be sought from your Career Education advisor.
First-year students with potential interest in majoring in Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, and Materials Science are welcome to chat with the general advisor in their area.
Second-year pre-major students are welcome to chat with the sophomore advisor in their area.
Students potentially interested in studying abroad should speak with an APAM advisor as soon as possible (even as first-year students) so they can chart a successful program.
