Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar - Dr. Jacek Aleksander Gruca

Dr. Jacek Aleksander Gruca is a current Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar at Columbia University, working in Professor Qiang Du's Computational Mathematics and Multiscale Modeling (CM3) group on problems in Quantum Information Science. One of the angles explored by prof. Du's group is seeking optimal violations of Bell inequalities by Quantum Entangled States. Their toolset includes Reinforcement Learning, an Artificial Intelligence method.
 
The Fulbright Program is the largest U.S. program of its kind, connecting students and scholars from around the world with students and faculty from the United States. Fulbright enables one to travel to the U.S. from a foreign country or to travel from the U.S. to a foreign country for stays of varying length (typically a couple months).
 
Dr. Gruca's Fulbright stay at Columbia began in October 2022 and will last until August 2023. Dr. Gruca says, "It's an exciting opportunity to further one's research in an international setting."
