2020 Giving Day

Oct 26 2020

Dear APAM Alumni and Friends,

On October 28, students, faculty, alumni, families, and friends—from across Columbia and around the world—come together to give back to Columbia Engineering on Giving Day. Together, we invest in the future of the school and our shared commitment to intellectual excellence and bringing this excellence to the service of humanity.

For the first time, you will be able to make your Giving Day gift in support of the Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics Department!

Each gift brings SEAS closer to winning matching funds through a friendly competition with our peer schools and units across Columbia. But most of all, today is a chance for you to show support for the areas you care about the most. Your support means a great deal as the APAM department (with its applied physics, applied math, materials science, and medical physics programs) continues our highest mission of research, teaching and learning amidst the many difficulties of our time.

I hope you will join me on Giving Day and show your support for APAM!

Best,

Irving P. Herman
Chair, Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics

Columbia Giving Day - Wednesday, October 28, 2020

1877 SEAS alumnus James R. Priest, the first Black student at Columbia, was an inspiring pioneer. When you support the James R. Priest Scholarship on Columbia Giving Day, gifts will be matched up to $200K due to the generosity of Dean Boyce and the CEAA!
