Financial Analyst
The APAM Department is currently seeking a Financial Analyst.
Reporting to the Business Manager, the incumbent supports research
programs of 22 faculty members and 61 researchers; has DAF signature
authority; is responsible for budgets and monitors expenditures for
approximately 175 accounts totaling approximately $3.5 million;
prepares monthly reports to support planning and decision making;
designs and generates routine and specialized reports; reconciles
University FAS statements for all grants against internal ledgers;
reviews budgets for grant proposals to federal agencies, industry,
and/or national laboratories; assists PIs with submission of on-line
proposals; assists with RASCAL, the University's proposal routing
system; processes, reviews, and approves FFE Purchase Orders,
Purchasing Requisitions, and payment of invoices in APCAR; assures
compliance with government regulations; assists Business Manager in
processing SAFs; processes and maintains records for Work-Study
payroll; submits time sheets and serves as liaison to Work-Study
Office; maintains files for all grants; responsible for proper disposal
of discarded equipment procured by the department with university
funds; archives business office files, as appropriate; approves Cash
Module transactions in FFE for petty cash and refund checks; serves as
liaison to the Departments of Telecommunications, Facilities, and
Printing Services; becomes conversant with general department and
university policies; supervises work-study assistants, and, in absence
of Business Manager, Financial Assistant (grade 9); performs other
related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus one year of financial experience
required. Must include resume and cover letter in the JAC on-line
application.
Computer literacy required on MACs and PCs. Spreadsheet skills
essential. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal
skills needed. Must be detail oriented. Must be able to prioritize
tasks in order of importance and meet firm deadlines. Must be able to
manage multiple responsibilities and complex tasks simultaneously. Must
be a team player and yet be able to function independently and interact
well with faculty, staff, and university officers.
Previous experience with federal grants desirable; knowledge of University systems strongly desired.
