Research Opportunities
Undergraduate Research Involvement Program (URIP)
At the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science at
Columbia University, the faculty takes an active role in research,
which is funded by both private and government sources. Faculty members
view student involvement in research as a part of the educational
process and actively encourage it.
Many students at Columbia SEAS are destined for the professional
research environment, while others may work in professional capacities
in tandem with the research function. It is the purpose of the program
and this guide to enable undergraduate students to participate.
Participation in the program is voluntary, although students are
advised that the faculty expects students to honor any commitment they
may make.
